RRZE runs FAU's self-hosted GitLab at gitlab.rrze.fau.de, and its v4 REST API answers anonymous reads. Verified live on 2026-08-30: /api/v4/projects?per_page=1 returns HTTP 200 with real project JSON and an x-total header of 132 public projects; /api/v4/version returns HTTP 401, which is GitLab's normal posture for that route. The API contract is GitLab's product contract and no copy of it is kept here; the institutional fact is that FAU operates the instance on its own domain and leaves public project metadata readable without a token.
